Paul Rossetti Bjarnason

A Canadian of Icelandic and Italian descent, Paul Rossetti Bjarnason was born in Vancouver in 1944. After completing a philosophy degree and teacher training, he taught secondary school English and mathematics for twenty years. He also taught courses in philosophy and logic, retiring in 1996 as Mathematics Head of King George Secondary School in Vancouver. Since 1988 he and his wife have been publishers of educational handbooks, during which time he completed an MPhil in Ancient Cultures cum laude, writing a thesis on the ethical philosophy of Epicurus. His aim in Stargazers is to transport readers of all ages (from young adult onward) directly into the lives of the philosophers, inviting them to answer for themselves the (philosophical) question What is philosophy? and to join the quest for the secret of the flourishing life.
